Some rain, some hills, some cars

Bit of rain during the night and drizzle in the morning. First 30km quite flat, but to, through and after Porto a lot of steep climbs. Porto is a gem, setting along the river, bridges, architectur. But sooo many tourists. Traffic very dense towards Guimaraes and Braga. 

Going North Quick

Furadouro, about 40km south of Porto. Today north along the coast main time on roads with significant less traffic. A bit less hot today and only few hills, but as well less attractions.

Traffic and already back home somehow

Even on small roads, very heavy traffic, not just cars, but lorries. Many old towns with impressive castles, elaborate churches and small streets with colorfull houses. Stayed in Coimbrao at the end of this day, so an extra "o" at the end. The lady running this camping moved vom FFB to Portugal back in 1992. A sign reads "mir redn Boarisch" and it is true...

Portugal the pilgrimage begins

Arrived last night at about 10pm in Lisbon. Left airport with my bike at 11 and cycled north. One of the campsites was not open for tents, just motorvans and huts, but a bit further one above the village of Alenquer were a few picknick tables in a forest, about 30m above the road, which  was not so busy in the night. Slept outside without the tent.
